GROUNSEL TREE



Grounsel Tree, Baccharis halimifolia: Tree found on the uppermost boarder of the marsh. Grows from three to six feet in height. Has wedge shaped coarsely toothed leaves that grow with alternate branching. Flowers are white and silky. Sometimes produces fruit. Can be confused with Marsh Elder. Look for alternate leaves versus the Elder's opposite.
